When you are adding teammates, you have come across the term client management and client access. Both of this term has different meanings and it’s good if you are able to understand this terminology.
If you enable the Client Management toggle, you should be able to add new clients, edit and deactivate clients you have been assigned to in the Client Access and also the clients you have created yourselves.
On the other hand, Client Access means the permission granted to access the Deskera Book of the client’s company. If the user has not been granted the access, they can’t view the information available on the client’s Deskera Books. They will also not be able to view the client's basic information such as email and mobile number on the Clients tab.
If you still find it confusing, we will break it down into a few scenarios:
1. Scenario 1
You are the teammate invited by the Bookkeeper organization owner, and you have two clients in the list; Client A and Client B. If you have been assigned to only client A, and you’ve enabled the Client Management toggle, you can perform the necessary actions such as creating a new client, edit and deactivate Client A and also new clients created by yourself. You can only access to Client A’s Deskera Books and NOT Client B via company switcher.
2. Scenario 2
You are the teammate invited by the Bookkeeper organization owner, and you have two clients in the list; Client A and Client B. You have been granted with Client Management and no access to any of the clients. You can perform the necessary actions, such as creating a new client and editing and deactivating new clients added by you. However, you do not have any access to Client A and Client B's information on Deskera Books. You will automatically have access to new clients added by you.
3. Scenario 3
You are the teammate invited by the Bookkeeper organization owner, and you have two clients in the list; Client A and Client B. You have not been granted with Client Management and no access to any of the clients. Hence, you cannot create a new client, edit, and deactivate existing clients. Lastly, you cannot even access both Client A and Client B Deskera Books via the company switcher.
