Assam holidays 2022 is a great opportunity to plan your vacation and take advantage of the long weekends. Assam Holidays in 2022 are declared by the Governor of Assam under the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881. In Assam, in addition to certain holidays, Sundays are also considered holidays. All holidays will be determined in coordination with the notifications of the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs Notification. Many holidays proclaimed in Assam are based on religious and cultural beliefs.

Like the rest of India, Assam celebrates three national holidays, including Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti. Other holidays celebrate harvests and other cultural beliefs that exist throughout India. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced in 2015 that all banks in India will be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month and will be open all days on the other Saturdays. In addition, Indian banks are closed on Sundays and public holidays.
